Movies That Warm My Holiday Heart

"I'm shakin' the dust of this crummy little town off my feet and I'm gonna see the world." -George Bailey

"All of these nothings have meant more to me than so many somethings." -Kathleen Kelly

"Money. I hate, loathe, despise and abominate money." -Rose Smith
"You also spend it." -Alonzo Smith

"We'll all grow up someday Meg, we might as well know what we want." -Amy March

I adore these movies, particularly in autumn and winter. They have simple, sweet messages that cause me to both laugh and tear up. My dad always pokes fun at how my mom and I watch the same movies over and over again, but when they are that great, why not?

Wallpaper: It's Not Just For 1960s Ramblers Anymore

I am thriving on these floral wallpaper patterns! I would wear them as a printed dress AND put them on my walls. The Central Park and Buckingham Palace changing of the guards are especially fun.

If only...

I want to make macaroons in this kitchen.

I'm really in the mood to get my own place and decorate it already!

A Retro Throwback

I am so inspired! While having loved the retro look since forever, I think I especially started liking it when to my delight a makeup artist told me I had a great retro vibe going on. I experimented with makeup like this earlier in the fall and have been wing-tipping my eyes ever since. Lauren is rocking that glossy red lip. It makes me want to get out of my matte mode.

Ahhh Yes

The colors the costume designer chose to go with Rose Byrne's red hair in this film were perfect! Emerald, teal, chartreuse, rose, canary: absolutely beautiful...and they just happen to be my favorites.

They Inspire

My mother is a classy lady. She never leaves home without lipstick on. Her signature pieces include tailored crop pants, boat necks, cardigans, and leather boots. She's steps it up a notch with textures like brocade and velvet, and statement accessories. Check out those hot sunglasses from Urban Outfitters!

My sister once said, "High ponytails are for going to the Y, and low ponytails are for all the other times." She was 6. That's awesome.

My friend Lauren is a great Italian beauty. She is always simply put together and timeless. Lauren can do the most wonderful things with bobby pins, hairspray, and her makeup bag. She is truly an artist.

One word sums up my dear friend Elisa: lovely. She is sweet and graceful and the most fabulous mix of cute, casual, and sophisticated. She is straight out of an Anthropologie catalogue, and for that I envy her greatly.

Seattle, I Love You

These are a sample of photos I took the other day around campus. UW is overflowing in history and gothic architecture while also catering to a new generation of hipsters with its hole-in-the-wall cafes and used bookstores. The vines concealing brick buildings are just beginning to turn a vibrant shade of red and I hear maple leaves shattering beneath my feet. I am welcoming autumn with my arms and heart wide open!
